The Golden Ring is a symbolic ring of ancient Russian towns situated to the North-East from Moscow. It keeps unique monuments of ancient Russian architecture of the 12-17th centuries: Moscow itself, Sergiev Posad and Alexandrov, Kostroma and Pereslavl-Zalessky, Uglich and Ivanovo, Yaroslavl and Rostov the Great, Suzdal and Vladimir, each of these towns is a real pearl of Russia. Nowadays they are often called 'museums in the open air'. Cathedrals and churches, convents and fine art museums strike by their beauty.
This tour will acquaint you with ancient Russians towns of the South-Eastern sector of the Ring: Sergiev Posad, Vladimir and Suzdal.
Itinerary:
Day 1
- Transfer (65 km) from Moscow to Sergiev Posad. Tour of the Troitse-Sergiev (St. Sergius) Monastery. Lunch in local restaurant. Transfer to Vladimir.
- Excursion to Bogolyubovo. Visit to Bogolubovsky monastery, the Church of Intercession on the river Nerl.
- Transfer (7 km) to Vladimir. Accommodation in hotel "Goryachie Kluchi 4*".
- Dinner at the hotel. (LD)
Day 2
- Breakfast in hotel.
- Excursion to Suzdal. City tour of Suzdal. Visiting Kremlin, Rogdestvensky cathedral, MDZ, Pokrovsky monastery, Spaso-Yevfimiev monastery, Spaso-Preobragensky monastery. Lunch in the city.
- Excursion to Vladimir. City tour including the Assumption Cathedral, the St. Dimitrius Cathedral and the Golden Gate. Transfer (180 km) to Moscow.
